1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Humberside Removals & Deliveries website and the removal, delivery, and storage services we provide. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

"We", "our", and "us" refers to Humberside Removals & Deliveries. "You" and "your" refers to the customer or website user.

2. Quotations

All quotes provided through our website or by our team are estimates based on the information you supply. The final price may vary if:

  • The volume or nature of items differs from what was described
  • Access conditions at either property are different from those declared
  • Additional services are requested on the day of the move
  • Delays occur due to circumstances beyond our control

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to adjust pricing if the move date falls outside this period.

3. Bookings and Deposits

To confirm a booking, a deposit is required as specified in your approved quote. The deposit secures your chosen date and is deducted from the final balance.

The remaining balance is due on or before the day of the move unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed in writing.

We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or other methods as agreed at the time of booking.

4. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel or reschedule your booking under the following conditions:

  • More than 7 days before the move: Full deposit refund
  • 3 to 7 days before the move: 50% of the deposit will be retained
  • Less than 3 days before the move: The full deposit will be retained

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to extreme weather, vehicle breakdown, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund.

5. Your Responsibilities

As the customer, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about your items, property access, and any potential difficulties
  • Ensuring all items are ready to be moved at the agreed time
  • Disconnecting and preparing appliances, electronics, and fixtures for transport
  • Securing or removing any items you do not wish us to handle
  • Ensuring adequate parking and access for our vehicles at both the collection and delivery addresses
  • Obtaining any necessary parking permits or lift reservations in advance

6. Our Services

We will carry out the agreed removal, delivery, or storage services with reasonable care and skill. Our services include:

  • Loading and unloading of household and commercial goods
  • Transportation between the agreed collection and delivery addresses
  • Disassembly and reassembly of furniture where agreed in the quote
  • Provision of packing materials where agreed in the quote
  • Short-term and long-term storage where agreed

7. Liability and Insurance

We take every care when handling your belongings. However, please note:

  • We carry goods-in-transit insurance for items we transport
  • Claims for damage must be reported to us within 7 days of delivery
  • We are not liable for damage to items that were improperly packed by the customer
  • We are not liable for damage caused by defects in items not visible at the time of collection (e.g., woodworm, internal mechanical faults)
  • We are not responsible for damage to items left in lofts, sheds, or garages unless specifically agreed
  • Our liability is limited to the cost of repair or replacement at current market value

We strongly recommend that you arrange your own contents insurance to cover high-value, fragile, or sentimental items.

8. Prohibited Items

We cannot transport the following items:

  • Hazardous materials, explosives, or flammable substances
  • Illegal goods or substances
  • Perishable food items (unless agreed in advance for short journeys)
  • Live animals or plants
  • Cash, jewellery, or important documents (we recommend these are transported personally)

9. Storage Terms

Where storage services are provided:

  • Storage fees are charged weekly or monthly as agreed
  • Payment must be made in advance or by the agreed date
  • We will store your items with reasonable care in secure, dry facilities
  • We require a minimum of 7 days' notice for collection of stored items
  • Items left in storage for more than 90 days without payment or contact may be disposed of after written notice

10. Website Use

By using our website you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information when requesting quotes or creating an account
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others
  • Not misuse the website or attempt to interfere with its operation
  • Not use the website for any unlawful purpose

Draft quotes that remain incomplete may be automatically deleted after a period of inactivity. You will receive a reminder email before deletion occurs.

11. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our services, please contact us as soon as possible. We aim to resolve all complaints fairly and promptly. Complaints should be made in writing within 14 days of the service being provided.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our website or services after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
